This feature is available for those who have KooBits English. It empowers parents by allowing them to input specific words their child struggles with, enabling independent practice. The app also offers a weekly spelling list aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus, complete with audio support so children can listen to words and type their answers.
How to access
KooBits English Spelling Bits can be accessed via the KooBits Parent App. Here's how to access it:
- Login to your parent account on the KooBits Parent App. Click here for the guide.
- From the "Who's using KooBits" page, select your parent profile.
- Click "KooBits Go" to access the options for KooCards and Spelling Bits.
Note: For parents with multiple kids registered and not all are subscribed to KooBits English, click the drop-down menu to select the child account with KooBits English plan.
Features
Spelling Bits offers two distinct modes of learning and testing:
- Practice Mode: Your child types the answers directly into the app. Tap the "Next" button to proceed to the next phase.
- Test Mode: This mode simulates a real-school environment to test retention and handwriting. Your child writes their answers on a physical piece of paper while using the app as a guide. From the app, tap the Volume icon to repeat the word/s or tap the "Show" button to reveal the correct spelling and check their work.
How to create a new spelling list
- From the Spelling Bits page on the Parent App, go to My Spelling List.
- Tap the "Create New List" button.
- Choose the type of practice you wish to create: Spelling or Dictation.
- Once you have added your words and finalized the list, tap “Save”.
